Job summary

UNC Health Caldwell is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant to join the Acute Care team. You will provide skilled physical therapy treatments to patients based on evaluations, treatment plans, and goals established by the supervising Physical Therapist.

The PTA will monitor patient progress, modify and advance treatment interventions as appropriate, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant by the state of North Carolina.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to interdisciplinary planning and discharge meetings.
• Precepts PT technicians or assistants and evaluates learner competency.
• Documents treatment progress for billing and statistics.
• Instructs PTA students within the department.
• Provides skilled PT treatments; designs and teaches exercise programs; trains on devices; home exercises.
• Participates in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintains reliable records and supports continuous quality improvement.
