WakeMed is seeking a compassionate, patient-centered psychiatrist to join our acute care hospitals and ED teams in Raleigh, NC. Board-eligible or board-certified in Psychiatry, you will diagnose and treat psychiatric symptoms in medically complex inpatients and deliver rapid psychiatric evaluations and crisis stabilization in the ER.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Completion of an accredited residency in Psychiatry.
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
• Licensed to practice in North Carolina.
• DEA certification to prescribe controlled substances.
• CL or ED psychiatry experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment.

Responsabilités

• Provide timely psychiatric evaluations for patients with co-occurring medical or surgical conditions.
• Offer expert medical management recommendations and psychiatric interventions to medical teams.
• Conduct crisis interventions and assessments.
• Determine appropriate levels of care and coordinate inpatient units, substance facilities or outpatient resources.
