Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking a Physical Therapist to join the acute care team. The PT will evaluate function, determine treatment strategies, and deliver therapy services to maximize independence.

Responsibilities include goal setting, using modalities and exercises, educating patients and families, and coordinating with care teams to ensure smooth transitions at discharge. Weekend rotation is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program by CAPTE.
• Acute Care experience preferred, however, open to new graduates.
• Current State of CT Physical Therapy license required or active temporary license at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs thorough examination and evaluation of patient’s function post- physician referral.
• Establishes measurable goals with patient/family based on care protocols.
• Implements interventions including modalities and therapeutic exercises.
• Provides patient and caregiver education on treatment and equipment use.
• Participates in discharge planning and coordinates with other care providers.
