Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is seeking a Physical Therapist for weekend days in the Acute Care unit. The role includes performing initial evaluations, designing goal-directed plans to improve mobility, and reviewing patient progress to adjust interventions as needed.

The candidate will collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team, supervise PT trainees and aides, and ensure compliance with APTA and state requirements. Licensure as a Physical Therapist is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy
• Doctorate in Physical Therapy
• Master's Degree in Physical Therapy
• High School Graduate Preferred Education and Experience

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in critical thinking, interpersonal relationships, and technical skills.
• Evaluates patients in clinical area served.
• Communicates evaluation results to physician, family, and other team members clearly.
• Develops and implements treatment plans using problem-solving and clinical reasoning.
• Supervises PTA’s and rehabilitation technicians and communicates results of evaluation and plan of care.
• May provide educational programs and supervise students; may collect and analyze performance data.
• Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; maintains professional standards.
