A leading health network is seeking an Acute Care Physical Therapist to evaluate and administer treatment programs for patients in an acute care setting. The role requires a Master's degree in Physical Therapy and a current license in New Jersey or Pennsylvania. The Acute Care Physical Therapist evaluates plans and administers physical therapy treatment programs for referred patients, acute care setting, to restore function, give pain relief and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part. Patient responsibilities include care provision for the patients below. Patients encountered by the Acute Care Physical Therapist may include those with a diagnosis and/or impairments related to pediatric (2 months – 12 years), adolescent (13-17 years), adult (18-65 years) medical conditions. The Physical Therapist shall work within the practice guidelines as defined by New Jersey or Pennsylvania state law (based upon work location)JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to sit for up to ninety minutes at a time. Be able to tolerate standing for thirty to forty-five minutes consecutively. Must be able to use hands/fingers to manipulate dials on machines. Must have the ability to lift/move patients up to 300 lbs., push/pull patients weighing up to 300 lbs. Must have the ability to frequently stoop/bend, squat, crouch, kneel and reach above shoulder level. Must be capable of tactile sensation as it relates to feeling for muscle spasms, texture and skin temperature. Must have the ability to hear as it relates to normal conversation and ability to hear call bells. Must be capable of seeing as it relates to general vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred.
