Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a Physical Therapist who will function under the direct supervision of the physical medicine supervisor and provide PT evaluations, modalities and treatments per hospital policy.

The position requires TX licensure (SCD or DPT) and BLS certification, with responsibilities including patient assessment, care planning, discharge planning and collaboration with the care team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a Physical Therapist in Texas (SCD or DPT)
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care for all ages from neonate to geriatric
• Performs patient assessments
• Establishes plan of care
• Administers care per physician orders and plan of care
• Educates patient, family, and caregiver on care needs
• Plans for discharge of patients
• Communicates with patient, family, caregivers and healthcare team
• Assesses treatment effectiveness and modifies therapy accordingly
