Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist (Acute Care) to join our team at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore. The therapist provides evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-evaluation and discharge planning, documenting progress and collaborating with the care team.

Primary duties include patient evaluations, goal setting with patient and family, implementing protocols, and ensuring timely documentation and charges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
• Maryland, District of Columbia (DC), and/or Virginia licensure as necessary for your location(s).
• American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support).

Responsibilities

• Provides evaluation services including review of information, Assessment, and documentation of results.
• Implements treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient needs; collaborates with the care team.
• Completes discharge planning and follows up with patient care documentation and charges.
• Demonstrates time management and productivity within the patient care setting.
• Mentors students and supports orientation for new staff and trainees.
