Job summary

HCA Florida Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL is seeking a driven Occupational Therapist to join our acute care team on a full-time basis. You will perform assessments, implement therapeutic interventions, and collaborate with physicians to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, adjusting treatment plans, and communicating care plans clearly to patients and families. Florida OT licensure, BLS, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy; Master’s preferred.
• Experience in appropriate healthcare setting.
• Clear/active Florida Occupational Therapist license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current FIM (Functional Independence Measure) required (within 90 days of hire).
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills; ability to read/comprehend written instructions; ability to follow verbal instructions; PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Treat disabilities, injuries and disease using therapeutic techniques per physician prescriptions; perform testing and evaluation.
• Record and document patient observation, treatment and changes in condition.
• Monitor, analyze and review clinical data.
• Reevaluate and modify treatment plans and goals based on patient performance.
• Clearly communicate and explain care to patients and families.
