Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist (Acute Care) for MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital. The role includes evaluating patients, planning and implementing therapy, and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

The position requires licensure for the region (MD/DC/VA as applicable) and BLS. The clinician will document care, contribute to discharge planning, and support student and staff education within a busy inpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia licensure as necessary for location(s).
• American Heart Association’s BLS (Basic Life Support).

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation services and determine recommendations and documentation of results.
• Explain findings and treatment plan to patient and family; involve patient in goals.
• Implement treatment protocols; modify plan as patient condition evolves; discharge planning.
• Document and code patient care accurately to reflect progress and outcomes.
• Mentor students, orient new staff, and participate in program planning and education.
