Job summary

This Nursing Assistant position is located within Acute Care at the Boise Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.

GS-3 to GS-5 levels with basic requirements, ongoing learning, and ability to support nursing care plans under supervision.

Qualifications

• US citizenship or eligible status per VA policy.
• Six months of general experience or equivalent education/training.
• English language proficiency as required by VA Handbook.
• Ability to meet VA physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide range of patient care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Observe patient condition and report deviations promptly.
• Operate basic nursing equipment and assist with procedures.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and staff.
