Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing personnel and operations by making rounds on a regular basis.
• Facilitates hospital throughput including bed placement and patient transfers/discharges.
• Supervises staff orientation and training, ensuring department routines and policies are followed.
• Maintains staffing while observing budget and regulatory requirements.
• Addresses patient, family and physician concerns and resolves issues within authority.
• Responds to acute unit codes and medical emergencies as needed.
