Are you an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) seeking an exciting career opportunity? Our inpatient liver/kidney/pancreas transplant team at the Penn Transplant Institute is expanding, and we want you to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team!
The Penn Transplant Institute consistently exceeds national averages in all organ transplants, thanks to our multidisciplinary approach and collaboration across Penn Medicine. Our abdominal organ transplant service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) performs over 150 liver transplants, 250 kidney transplants, and 15 kidney/pancreas transplants annually.
As a valued team member, you will manage inpatient care, make clinical decisions, perform procedures, and coordinate complex discharge planning and care transitions. You will collaborate with surgeons, transplant coordinators, pharmacists, and nurses to deliver top-tier care. Additionally, you will educate patients, families, and staff to ensure everyone is well-informed and supported. Participation in departmental initiatives and Unit-Based Clinical Leadership (UBCL) is expected to continually improve our services. Opportunities for professional growth include research, lecturing, publications, and involvement in hospital projects and committees.
You will work 72 hours per 2-week pay period, including night shifts and rotational coverage on weekends and holidays.
All Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants operate under guidelines established by the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania medical staff and are credentialed through that body. You will be accountable via a formal job description, privileges delineation, and a Collaborative Practice Agreement with your supervising physician.
