An established healthcare provider is seeking a dedicated Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their cardiology team. In this part-time role, you will provide vital care to patients with advanced heart failure and general cardiology needs. Your expertise will be instrumental in conducting health assessments, prescribing treatments, and educating patients and families. Northwestern Medicine has an exciting opportunity for either an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or a Physician Assistant to work in our inpatient general cardiology and heart failure department. The APP will provide primary service to patients experiencing complex, advanced Heart Failure care, VADs, and General Cardiology. The Galter 10 is a service of 17 APPs covering 48 beds. The APP will support 4 Cardiology services, with rotating attendings each week. APPs can expect an average load of 6-7 patients a day.
Schedule: 3x10s, Saturday and Sunday, with flexibility to work Monday or Friday.
Demonstrates clinical expertise and expanded knowledge through patient care activities which may include diagnosis and management of a wide range of health problems. Responsible for health outcome of an assigned patient population. Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals in area of clinical expertise. Develops appropriate educational systems for patients, families and staff in areas of expertise. Mentors graduate students in aspects of advanced practice and patient care. Actively participates in quality improvement and/or research pertinent to area of expertise.
