Penn Medicine has an exciting opportunity for Nurse Practitioners and/or Physician Assistants to join the Cardiology Advanced Practice (CAP-Service) team. The team has two service arms: advanced heart failure and interventional cardiology (CAP-I). Responsibilities include caring for patients with advanced cardiovascular diseases such as advanced heart failure, complex valvular heart disease (e.g., TAVRs, TMVRs), ischemic heart disease requiring complex interventions, mechanical circulatory support (VADs, Impellas), pulmonary hypertension, and heart transplant recipients or complications.
This high-paced inpatient service involves comprehensive care, including admissions, daily clinical tasks, and discharge planning. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a vital part of the multidisciplinary team, working closely with specialized cardiologists who value the APP role and autonomy.
This role requires a high level of independence, strong organizational skills, and a solid knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology. It offers significant professional growth and opportunities to contribute to Penn Medicine’s mission of clinical care, research, and education.
All APPs will operate under the guidelines of the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center and are credentialed accordingly. They will work under a Collaborative Practice Agreement with their supervising physician, with responsibilities and hours defined by hospital policies.
