Penn Medicine is dedicated to providing high-quality care, conducting innovative research, and educating future leaders in medicine. Working here involves collaboration with top professionals across disciplines.
The Pulmonary and Medical Critical Care service at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania seeks an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our team of Advanced Practice Providers (APP).
Our APPs deliver care to critically ill patients in one of the highest acuity ICUs in the nation, managing diverse cases including Oncology, Hepatology, Pulmonary, transplant, and general medicine. We pioneered the use of an APP model in our MICU and plan to expand this model with a new 12-bed Oncology MICU.
In addition to ICU care, APPs lead bedside procedures such as central lines, paracentesis, thoracentesis, and lumbar puncture, and participate in teaching residents and fellows. They also operate a Resuscitation and Critical Care Overflow service for patients outside the ICU with evolving critical illness.
Ideal candidates are qualified leaders with the skills, experience, and passion to fill these roles, working autonomously with interdisciplinary teams to diagnose, treat, and manage complex critical illnesses.
This role operates 24/7/365, with shifts every 6-7 days over two weeks, including day/night rotations and every third weekend. Night and weekend shifts are available.
We offer comprehensive benefits, including tuition assistance, and are committed to a diverse, inclusive workplace. Join us in making a difference in patient care and medical advances.
