Job summary

Kindred Baldwin Park Hospital seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide nursing care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, within the scope of licensure and hospital policy. You will administer medications, monitor patient status, and participate in the care plan with the care team.

You will educate patients and families on pain management and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, effective treatment. A BLS certification and prior acute care experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on patient age and condition.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Approximate percent of time required to travel: 0%.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, administers medications and performs treatments as prescribed.
• Consults with and informs the RN of patient status, symptoms, and changes in condition.
• Provides pain management education to patient and family.
• Administers medications following the five rights of medication administration.
• Assists with rehabilitation and treatment per the plan of care under RN supervision.
• Assists physicians with examinations and procedures as directed by the RN.
