Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks an LPN/LVN to provide direct and indirect patient care in the medical-surgical setting. You will collaborate with physicians, Nurse Manager, and coworkers, communicating changes in condition and treatment responses.

Responsibilities include pain assessment and management, medication administration (including psychotropic drugs when appropriate), interdisciplinary collaboration, and performing nursing assessments under RN

Qualifications

• Current LPN/LVN licensure in State of Nevada.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current IV Certification required
• At least one year LPN exp required
• Acute Care exp preferred

Responsibilities

• Ability to adequately assess and reassess pain. Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the patient and family regarding pain management
• Demonstrates knowledge of medications, including psychotropic drugs, and their correct administration based on the patient's age and clinical condition.
• Consults other departments, as appropriate, to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs
• Demonstrates the ability, under the direct supervision of an RN, to perform nursing assessments on all patients of all ages and reassessments as per policy.
