Job summary

Kindred Hospital Denver and Acute Rehabilitation Unit (ARU) seeks a Nursing Assistant to support nursing staff in patient care and daily living activities. You will assist with positioning, feeding, hygiene and basic measurements under RN supervision.

You will help with admissions, transfers and discharges, respond to call lights, and maintain clean, comfortable patient rooms. Six months’ acute care experience preferred; BLS may be required.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak fluent English.
• Must have good and regular attendance.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Able to organize tasks, develop action plans, set priorities and function under stressful situations.
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional nursing personnel in providing patient care.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Take and record vital signs accurately and document timely.
• Prepare patient room and bed for admission, transfers and discharge.
• Assist with admissions, transfers and discharge procedures and with belongings.
• Respond to patient call lights and paging system.
