Job summary

Soar Physical Therapy, in partnership with Confluent Health, seeks a licensed acupuncturist to diagnose, treat, and prevent disorders using acupuncture needles and related therapies to support orthopedic, dietary, lifestyle, and psychological health.

Master’s degree or postbaccalaureate certificate and valid Acupuncturist license are required; Soar is therapist-owned and focused on growth and leadership development within the community.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or postbaccalaureate certificate from an accredited school.
• Valid Acupuncturist License.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients condition and administers acupuncture treatments to promote healing.
• Identifies point locations based on patient anatomy.
• Administers needles, cups, and other therapies as appropriate.
• Analyzes medical histories to guide treatment strategies.
• Educates patients on health, nutrition, and relaxation techniques.

Diagnose, treat, and prevent disorders by stimulating specific acupuncture points within the
body using acupuncture needles. May also use cups, nutritional supplements, therapeutic
massage, acupressure, and other alternative health therapies.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients condition and administers appropriate treatment of symptoms and disorders
  to promote care and healing of orthopedic conditions, diet, lifestyle and psychological health, as well as provide pain management.
• Identifies the correct anatomical and proportional point locations based on patients anatomy.
• Treats patients using tools such as needles, cups, ear balls, seeds, pellets and nutritional
  supplements.
• Analyzes physical findings and medical histories to make diagnoses, then determine and
  administer therapeutic treatment strategies.
• Takes precautions related to treatments such as intradermal needles, moxibustion, eletricity,
  gua sha and bleeding.
• Formulates herbal preparations based on their herbal properties to treat conditions.
• Evaluates treatment outcomes and recommends new or altered treatments to promote, restore
  or maintain health.
• Educates patients on topics such as meditation, ergonomics, stretching, exercise, nutrition, the
  healing process, breathing and relaxation techniques.

Non-Essential Functions

• Ability to learn and adapt to electronic health records (EHR) software.
• Strong customer and personal service perspective.
• Basic understanding of psychology, therapy and counseling.
• Excellent active listening and critical thinking skills with a service orientation. Strong judgement
  and decision-making skills
