The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs New Jersey VA Medical Center seeks a licensed acupuncturist to join the Whole Health - Integrative Medicine team under the Chief of Staff. You will provide acupuncture and related therapies to balance energy flow and reduce pain and anxiety, alone or with traditional care.

You may lead Tai Chi or QiGong classes and educate Veterans on self-care. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and documentation in the VA EHR are required.

Qualifikationen

• Must hold ACAOM-accredited degree or equivalent licensure.
• Board certification through NCCAOM is required.
• U.S. citizenship and English proficiency are required for patient care roles.
• Active, unrestricted license to practice acupuncture in a U.S. state or D.C.
• Preferred: at least five years of professional experience as a licensed acupuncturist.

Aufgaben

• Provides individualized acupuncture treatment using East Asian and conventional evaluation to formulate a differential diagnosis and develop a treatment plan.
• Formulates treatment plans independently or with other health care professionals.
• Selects and uses appropriate acupuncture tools and supplies based on patient needs.
• Educates Veterans on self-care techniques, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and mind-body practices.
• Provides group acupuncture services as clinically indicated.
• Documents and codes patient care in the VA EHR in a timely manner.
• Collaborates with other health care providers regarding patient care.
• Directs Veterans to other services when referrals require additional care.
• Teaches Tai Chi and QiGong as wellness/therapeutic classes when appropriate.
