Base pay range

$190,000.00/yr - $235,000.00/yr

Overview

We are seeking a Staff Actuator Design Engineer to lead the design and development of electromechanical actuators that drive critical functions in lightweight electric vehicles. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of mechanical systems, electronics, and software integration, and wants to make a direct impact on the future of mobility.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electromechanical actuators, motors, and motion systems for advanced light electric vehicles.
  • Create CAD models and detailed manufacturing documentation for mechanical assemblies.
  • Collaborate closely with electrical and firmware teams to integrate control systems and ensure seamless operation.
  • Define and execute validation plans, reliability testing, and failure analysis in partnership with suppliers.
  • Build and test prototypes, iterating designs to achieve optimal performance and durability.
Qualifications
  • Deep expertise with motors, servo drives, sensors, and precision mechanisms.
  • Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (CATIA preferred; SolidWorks, NX, or equivalent acceptable).
  • Strong background in simulation and modeling tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Ansys, Abaqus, or HyperWorks.
  • Programming experience in Python, C, or C++ for system integration and low-level control.
  • Knowledge of materials, GD& T, and manufacturing processes for high-performance mechanical systems.
  • Prior experience integrating mechanical and electronic systems in automotive, aerospace, robotics, or related high-precision industries.
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
