Job summary

Smith Hanley is recruiting an Actuary to join a dynamic international insurance organization. Location: Remote or Chicago, IL, with a salary range of $120,000–$170,000 plus bonus.

The role supports and leads pricing analyses, rating tools, and portfolio management across Commercial Primary and Excess GL lines, with exposure to Cyber, Renewable Energy, D&O, and PI. You will work closely with underwriting leadership, apply advanced analytics, develop rate plans, ILF reviews, and segmentation,

Qualifications

• ACAS or FCAS is required.
• 5 CAS exams in progress may be considered.
• Experience in Commercial Lines pricing, preferably in Excess & Specialty and/or General Liability.
• Exposure to cyber and other emerging lines is a plus.

Responsibilities

• 4+ years of actuarial experience in Property & Casualty insurance (or equivalent advanced degree with 2+ years).
• Hands-on experience supporting and improving rating tools, with a focus on underwriting efficiency and data capture.
• Strong analytical skills with background in rate plan development, ILF reviews, segmentation, predictive modeling, and benchmarking.
