ACTUARY (Multiple Openings) – UPMC Health Plan in Pittsburgh, PA seeks multiple Actuaries to design and develop value-based contract project work, determine performance measures, benchmarks, and other contractual components. Responsibilities include analyzing membership, risk scores, claims, and other data, monitoring trends, and identifying issues.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
• Two (2) years of actuarial experience in health insurance/managed care, consulting, or related areas.
• Experience with attribution and logic for total cost of care-based VBP contracts, developing benchmarks, risk scores, and projections.
• Proficiency in Medicare Advantage Risk Adjustment Modeling.
• Knowledge of programming languages/tools including SQL, SAS, and Excel with VBA.
• ASA or FSA certification by Society of Actuaries and membership in the American Academy of Actuaries.
