Job summary

Auto Club Enterprises in Costa Mesa, CA invites an Actuarial Technician to join our team. You will support rating, validate premiums, and drive testing across development and user acceptance to ensure product integrity.

You’ll serve as a subject matter expert for rate rules and plan exceptions, collaborating across teams to defend product intent. You will manage multiple projects, refine rating processes, and own rate changes from start to finish, contributing to accurate pricing and consistent

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical, logical reasoning and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including lookups and nested functions.
  • Two years of insurance industry experience a plus; knowledge of rating rules is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of insurance products, rating systems and discounts/surcharges.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rating support to internal teams, validate premiums and justify changes.
  • Plan, execute and support testing (Dev, UAT, Post-implementation) and perform peer reviews.
  • Identify, refine and resolve rating/system issues to maintain product integrity.
  • Represent the Actuarial team in meetings and follow through on actions.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for assigned states/products with knowledge of rating rules.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain system rate books.
  • Gather requirements, close loopholes and design solutions to protect product intent.
  • Independently own projects and rate changes from inception to completion.

Actuarial Technician

Bring your analytical skills and attention to detail to a role where accuracy truly matters. As an Actuarial Technician, you'll be at the center of ensuring our insurance products are priced and delivered exactly as intended. From validating rates and leading system testing to serving as a go-to expert for rate plan and rules, you'll play a critical role in protecting the integrity of our products while collaborating across teams to make impactful improvements.

What You'll Do:
  • You will provide rating support to internal teams; validate premiums and justify changes.
  • You'll plan, execute, and support testing (Dev, UAT, Post-implementation); perform peer reviews and troubleshoot using premium validation tools.
  • You will identify, refine, and resolve rating/system issues to maintain product integrity.
  • You’ll represent the Actuarial team in meetings; contribute insights and follow through on action items.
  • You will serve as subject matter expert for assigned states/products, with deep knowledge of rating rules and exceptions.
  • You’ll develop, enhance, and maintain system rate books.
  • You will gather requirements, close loopholes, and design solutions to protect product intent.
  • You’ll independently own projects and rate changes from inception to completion.
What You’ll Need:

The starting pay range for this position is:

$31.10 - $41.42 Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
