Job summary

Reliance Matrix in Philadelphia offers a 10-week Summer Actuarial Internship. You will gain hands-on experience across data analysis, reporting, pricing, and loss experience while learning from seasoned actuarial professionals.

As an intern, you will contribute to rate adequacy projects, prepare reports for underwriting, claims, and sales, and work toward actuarial exams in a collaborative, growth-focused environment. The program runs June through August with a hybrid in-office schedule.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong academic performance and an interest in actuarial work, data analysis, insurance, or financial services.
• Curious, collaborative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Previous work, volunteer, leadership, or community involvement experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Interns follow Reliance Matrix’s enterprise three-day hybrid schedule, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays required in office, and should plan to participate for the full duration of the program. Along the way, you'll join a collaborative team that values curiosity, growth, and hands-on learning while connecting with leaders and peers across the organization.

Program highlights include professional development trainings, a senior leader speaker event, a corporate charity fundraising project, Reliance Matrix Foundation events such as a Philadelphia Museum of Art trip, and networking opportunities within Tokio Marine Group.

The expected hiring range for this position is $17.68 - $21.87 hourly for work performed in the primary location (Philadelphia, PA). This expected hiring range covers only base pay and excludes any other compensation components such as commissions or incentive awards. The successful candidate’s starting base pay will be based on several factors including work location, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Work location may be flexible if approved by the Company.
