Position Overview:

This role supports the Commercial Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance portfolio within the Professional Lines segment. Embedded in a technically advanced actuarial team, the position emphasizes innovation, data integration, and collaboration with underwriting and business leadership. Key responsibilities include pricing strategy, model enhancement, and performance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead pricing and strategic support for the D&O book of business.
  • Maintain and improve the Pricing predictive model using public financial data.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and business partners to improve D&O market performance.
  • Contribute to actuarial innovation and integration of external data sources and analytics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Actuarial experience in professional lines, preferably D&O.
  • Proficiency in Python/R, SQL.
  • Experience with data tools like GitHub, Databricks, PowerBI.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-performing team.

Job Summary:

Our Property and Casualty Actuarial team uses state-of-the-art tools, encourages innovation, and values mastery of actuarial methodologies. We seek candidates with detailed knowledge of business operations, systems, and advanced actuarial techniques who can work independently and lead others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical expert in actuarial methodologies, data sourcing, and manipulation.
  • Conduct complex analyses, document assumptions, and develop recommendations, ensuring compliance with standards.
  • Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences, representing the company with regulators and external vendors.
  • Develop work plans, lead peer reviews, and foster collaboration.
  • Build relationships and lead communication with team members and partners.
  • Lead onboarding and training for new associates, and explore new software tools.

Additional duties as assigned.

Reporting: Reports to Actuarial Leader.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or data science.
  • Attain ACAS, working towards or recently attained FCAS.
  • Six+ years of actuarial experience.
  • Knowledge of actuarial models, software, databases, and programming languages.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
