Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Senior Actuarial Consultant to support our Businessowner commercial pricing team. This role involves conducting state product reviews, providing risk segmentation and pricing recommendations, and assessing rate adequacy to ensure financial success. The ideal candidate will bring innovative ideas and expertise in actuarial services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct state product reviews
  • Enhance manual rating plans, establish risk segmentation, and provide pricing recommendations
  • Assess rate adequacy to ensure financial success
  • Collaborate with data scientists to develop and implement actuarial models, including GLM and multivariate models
  • Maintain and improve actuarial models and tools
  • Work across teams to integrate models and insights into business processes

Preferred Experience:

  • Proficiency in Python and/or R coding
  • Experience in developing and maintaining actuarial models, especially GLM and multivariate models
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

This position offers a collaborative environment with growth opportunities. It can be staffed remotely or on a hybrid schedule with 2 days/week at one of our office locations in Columbus, OH, Des Moines, IA, or Scottsdale, AZ. Relocation assistance may be provided.

Job Description Summary: Our Property and Casualty (P&C) Actuarial team members use advanced tools and methodologies. You will need detailed knowledge of business operations, systems, and actuarial techniques, working independently and possibly leading others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical expert in actuarial methodologies
  • Conduct complex analyses, document assumptions, and develop recommendations
  • Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences, representing the company with regulators and external vendors
  • Lead cross-functional reviews and build business relationships
  • Lead onboarding and training for new associates
  • Apply data mining and predictive modeling techniques, exploring new software tools

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or related field
  • Attainment of ACAS, working towards or recently attained FCAS
  • Six or more years of actuarial experience
  • Knowledge of actuarial models, software, and databases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, analytical software, and programming languages

Additional Information: This role is exempt, with normal office conditions. The position may be filled in any of the lower 48 states. The salary range is $104,000 - $215,000, with an expected starting range of $115,000 - $173,000.
