Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an experienced actuarial manager to oversee a staff of fellows, associates, actuarial candidates, and support personnel. You will guide pricing and rate development, oversee projects, and implement actuarial policies to help meet financial objectives.

You will collaborate with Product Management & Development, Underwriting & Rating, and Sales to ensure compliant pricing strategies and sound risk management, while developing and mentoring staff to achieve targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics.
• Preferred: Bachelor's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• ASA or ACAS designation and pursuing FSA or FCAS (Fellowship).

Responsibilities

• Manage hiring, coaching, performance management, and day-to-day dept operations.
• Oversee rate filings for large and small groups.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, and Product Management to implement pricing strategies.
• Provide advanced support for the claim reserve process.
• Mentor and lead actuarial staff and cross-functional projects.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
