University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor or tenured Associate Professor in the Program of Actuarial Science and Risk Management within LAS. Responsibilities include teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, building an independent research program, and contributing to departmental and university service.

The position starts August 16, 2027, with a salary range of $100,000–$160,000 depending on rank, experience, and market

Qualifications

• Applicants must have a Ph.D. in actuarial science, statistics, risk management and insurance, finance, data science or a closely related field before the position start date.
• Willingness to provide service to the unit is preferred.
• Ideal candidates will exhibit synergy with current faculty expertise or have potential to expand the actuarial curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Teach effectively at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Establish and maintain an active and independent research program.
• Provide service to the department, the university and the profession.
