Job summary

Excela Protect is seeking a Director of Actuarial & Risk Management to serve as the actuarial authority behind pricing, reserving, and risk across vehicle protection and related products. This senior role combines technical expertise with business acumen to influence underwriting, finance, product, operations, analytics, and business development.

The role is remote with approval states. You will lead governance, ensure reserve adequacy, and support profitable, sustainable growth while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own actuarial pricing methodologies, reserve frameworks, and governance processes.
• Monitor reserve adequacy based on portfolio performance and emerging experience.
• Evaluate profitability, loss ratios, claim trends, and risk exposure across products.
• Identify emerging risks and opportunities to support growth and financial stability.
• Lead actuarial due diligence and pricing recommendations for new client opportunities.
• Collaborate with business leaders on financial implications of strategic decisions.
• Establish actuarial standards, controls, and decision frameworks.

As we grow, we're looking for a Director, Actuarial & Risk Management to serve as our lead actuarial expert and strategic partner in pricing, reserving, and risk management.Summary: You'll be the actuarial authority behind our vehicle protection and insurance-adjacent products, driving pricing discipline, reserve integrity, and portfolio performance.
