Job summary

Core Specialty Insurance is seeking an Actuarial Reserving Intern for a 12-week summer program in Chicago, IL. You will work with our actuarial team on real reserve reviews, CAT reporting, and loss-cost analytics under guidance from experienced actuaries.

Applicants are actively pursuing a degree in actuarial science or a related field, with a strong interest in insurance and exams progressing toward CAS credentials.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
• CAS preliminary exams in progress; 1–2 passed acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform quarterly reserve reviews to support adequate reserves.
• Create and distribute Quarterly Reserve Report.
• Create and distribute CAT reporting with monthly tracking of incurred claims.
• Monitor loss emergence against plan assumptions and summarize to management.
• Develop and monitor monthly metrics for trends in loss costs.
