Job summary

HDI Global Insurance Company, a Chicago-based property and casualty insurer, seeks an Actuarial Specialist to lead pricing models and key actuarial initiatives. This hybrid role requires translating complex insights for underwriting and leadership teams.

You will develop pricing tools, monitor profitability, and collaborate with underwriters, data teams, and senior leadership. The position offers a substantial salary and a comprehensive benefits package in a dynamic, global organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• 5+ years P&C actuarial experience; ACAS or near-ACAS preferred
• Proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Office Suite; Python/VBA/R familiarity a plus
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain pricing models to support underwriting decisions.
• Monitor portfolio performance, profitability, rate adequacy, and trends for pricing and filings.
• Perform profitability and portfolio reviews integrating reserving, pricing, and underwriting perspectives.
• Provide actuarial pricing support for large complex accounts with underwriters.
• Mentor junior analysts and lead research on trends and cost drivers.
• Lead cross-functional projects and build data pipelines and dashboards for pricing accuracy.
