Job summary

Erie Insurance offers a Future Focus Internship Program in the Actuarial Division (Pricing Department) based at the Corporate Office in Erie, PA. The internship runs from May 2027 through August 2027 with start dates May 17 or May 24, and an end date of August 6, 2027.

Responsibilities include learning actuarial techniques, assisting with rating factors, profitability reviews, and presenting findings to management.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Pursuit of bachelor's degree with completion of sophomore year majoring in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics or related field required.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Proficiency in probability and statistics preferred.
Basic knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and database software preferred.

Responsibilities

Learn actuarial techniques, data sources, and spreadsheets.
Assist in analysis of insurer programs, profitability, rating factors and reserves.
Create exhibits and charts for actuarial and reserve studies and rate recommendations.
Develop basic knowledge of ratemaking procedures and write programs in SAS/Visual Basic to extract data.
Gather information and present analysis to management and other departments.
