Our Personal Lines Actuarial team is seeking an Actuarial Director to join our growing team in Worcester, MA, Windsor, CT, Howell, MI or remote work location consideration.
This is a full time, exempt position.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Actuarial Director role is responsible for managing a team of pricing actuaries within our Personal Lines actuarial team, reporting directly to the Actuarial State Pricing AVP for Personal Lines. This is a highly visible position, with day-to-day responsibility for all pricing activities for 1/3rd or more of The Hanover’s $2.5B Personal Lines business.
The Actuarial Director role provides overall management and technical oversight to a team of analysts with varying degrees of experience and is expected to take on a more hands on approach when required. This role requires partnership across the Personal Lines actuarial team, as well as the broader organization including Personal Lines State Management, Underwriting, Product, Technology, and Finance.
Direct responsibilities include managing rate reviews with an eye towards process improvement, loss ratio planning, supporting product development, and leveraging analytics to advance more sophisticated pricing strategies and solutions.
