Job summary

Blue Shield of CA is seeking an Actuarial Analyst - Associate to support the Large Group Pricing team in pricing for large fully insured customers. The role emphasizes developing technical actuarial skills and leadership, with collaboration across Underwriting, Product and Rating Systems.

The associate will report to the Senior Manager of Large Group Pricing and contribute to project work. This hybrid in-office role requires two days on-site weekly, with flexibility based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science, computer science, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of actuarial concepts, insurance fundamentals, and healthcare terminology through education or internships.
• Applied basic quantitative and analytical skills using spreadsheets and standard reporting tools.
• Used attention to detail to support data validation, documentation, and quality checks.
• Completed 1-2 actuarial exam courses toward ASA, Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (or equivalent progress
