Job summary

Farm Family is seeking an Actuarial Analyst III to perform and communicate complex actuarial analyses with a focus on pricing. You will support pricing, reserving and modeling functions and assist junior analysts with data and spreadsheets.

The role requires a math/statistics/economics background and CAS exam progress, with on-site requirements in Omaha. The base salary range reflects local markets and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics or related field.
  • Completion of at least 3 CAS exams.
  • Experience applying actuarial principles in pricing, reserving or modeling.
  • Ability to prepare and communicate actuarial analyses to management and regulators.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and communicate complex actuarial analyses including pricing, data analyses and exhibits.
  • Support core actuarial functions with emphasis in pricing, reserving and modeling.
  • Assist less experienced analysts with data sources and spreadsheets.
  • Communicate with regulators and internal stakeholders about analyses and filing requirements.

Farm Family is a leader in serving the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic markets and is pursuing growth across the U.S. The Farm Family entities are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Clearbrook Group Holdings Inc.Job DescriptionThe responsibilities of the Actuarial Analyst III include performing and communicating complex actuarial analyses such as actuarial exhibits, pricing, data analyses and other tasks as assigned as well as assisting less experienced Actuarial Analysts. This position supports the core actuarial functions (i.e. Pricing, reserving, modeling, etc. with a primary focus in pricing) responsible for ensuring profitability, growth and the financial strength of the organization.Minimal management oversight, review and guidance will be required.This is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.Essential Responsibilities:Applies fundamental actuarial principles in analyzing company and industry data to prepare actuarial analysesPrepares summaries of actuarial analyses for distribution to Home Office and Field management, other Farm Family departments, consultants, reinsurers, and regulatorsCompletes processes to perform and document actuarial analyses promptly and accuratelyAssists less experienced analysts with spreadsheets, databases, and sources of data used in actuarial analysesPrepares for and progresses in the CAS examinations through on-the-job and home studyInteracts with personnel in all departments of Actuarial OperationsProvide and request information about items to be included in actuarial analyses such as rate proposals.Communicate with regulators to understand state regulations, filing requirements, and compliance concerns.Provide historical experience and data to support annual renewal and provide insight to explain trendsQualifications / Experience Required:A Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related field with a strong mathematical background is required.The ability to demonstrate sufficient progress in understanding and applying basic actuarial principles andCompletion of at least 3 CAS examsMust be able to operate Microsoft Office programs and ability to learn other computer applications.Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.Problem solving in this position mainly involves applying these principles and fundamentals in any actuarial analyses that reflect sound actuarial thought processes.Speaking - Talking to others to convey information effectively so others can understand youService Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help people.Coordination - Adjusting actions in relation to others' actions.Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.Writing - The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing and to communicate information in writing so others will understandThe base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience.
