Job summary

Americo Life, Inc. is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our team in Kansas City.

This role supports pricing initiatives, product development and valuation efforts for life and annuity products, and contributes to financial health and strategic decision-making. Ideal candidates are recent graduates or early-career actuaries pursuing credentials, with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel; knowledge of AXIS/Prophet and SQL/Python/R is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
• Completion of at least one SOA exam (preferred).
• Strong analytical, conceptual-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with actuarial software (e.g. AXIS, Prophet) and programming languages (SQL, Python, R) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pricing and design of new life insurance products (term, whole life, universal life, indexed UL, fixed indexed annuities, fixed annuities).
• Support experience studies and assumption development for mortality, lapse, and expense trends.
• Contribute to preparation of actuarial models for product profitability, cash flow testing, and reserve calculations.
• Collaborate with multiple departments to support product launches and enhancements.
• Help prepare regulatory filings and documentation for state departments of insurance.
• Develop, maintain and improve actuarial tools and automation processes.
• Progress toward actuarial credentials through exam support and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

Experience and Qualifications:
