Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or statistics.
• Successful completion of two actuarial exams.
• Completion of one internship prior to graduation.
• Commitment to pass additional actuarial exams every 6–18 months.
• Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite and exposure to database tools and programming languages (such as C++, Visual Basic).
• Effective listener with ability to document own work.
• Ability to work accurately and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Programs and runs computer jobs to collect data and summarizes to assist in various actuarial functions.
• Performs actuarial tasks which are of a mathematical and quantitative nature.
• Compiles and categorizes data, documenting and verifying factors used in computations such as those used in evaluating loss and expense reserves, preparing rate filings, schedules of statistics, financial statements, premiums, benefits and establishing rating and pricing levels.
• Gains familiarity about specific product lines, company operations, systems and actuarial methodology through completion of actuarial exams.
• Actively pursue actuarial accreditation. Maintains good standing in the actuarial student program.
