Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics or statistics.
• Successful completion of two actuarial exams.
• Completion of one internship prior to graduation.
• Commitment to pass an additional actuarial exam every 6-18 months.
• MS Office proficiency and exposure to database tools; basic programming experience (C++, Visual Basic).

Responsibilities

• Programs and runs computer jobs to collect data and summarizes to assist in various actuarial functions; provides initial data analysis and impact on financials.
• Performs actuarial tasks which are mathematical and quantitative in nature.
• Compiles and categorizes data, documenting and verifying factors used in computations such as loss reserves, rate filings, financial statements, premiums and pricing.
• Gains familiarity with product lines and actuarial methodology while pursuing actuarial exams; maintain actuarial student program status.
