Job summary

Edgewater Actuarial Insights, LLC is seeking an Actuarial Analyst to assist in setting rates for insurance products, analyzing premium and loss data, and communicating observations to senior management. You will develop and enhance products, design reports for decision-making, forecast industry trends, and present findings to leadership.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or related field, strong Excel skills, and intermediate programming ability (SQL/Python/R).

Responsibilities

  • Support the rate review process by preparing rate indications, analyzing components of rating, developing pricing proposals and calculating impacts.
  • Provide data to support underwriting decision-making
  • Assist with analysis on project initiatives
  • Evaluate success and drive continuous improvement in product enhancements
  • Solve complex business problems using analytical and actuarial techniques
  • Provide support in preparing and presenting materials for clients
  • Perform statistical data analysis in support of new product development
  • Analyze market/industry/regulatory trends to provide actionable insights for business decisions
  • Gather and compile statistical data via Excel/Access or data management programs to develop reports for pricing, reinsurance reporting, and valuation.

Job description

The Actuarial Analyst will assist in setting rates for various insurance products. This may include extracting and analyzing premium and loss data, using applications and statistical programs, evaluating results for reasonability, and communicating observations to help achieve goals. Assist in developing and enhancing products, designing reports to improve decision-making, forecasting and assessing industry trends and presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or business-related discipline

  • Gather and compile statistical data via Excel, Access, or data management programs, to develop reports facilitating and supporting pricing, reinsurance reporting, and valuation function
