About the project:

As the true meaning of Christmas fades into the background for many, a Mexican American military family, Kristie Perez and her 16-year-old daughter, Ivory, begin to grapple with a devastating reality: their husband and father has gone missing in action overseas—and may never return.
Struggling to process the uncertainty, Ivory begins to deflect her pain and new nightmares onto her mother, whose emotional withdrawal feels like abandonment. Haunted by memories of her mother’s past battle with mental illness, Ivory grows fearful that her mother and herself are slipping away again under the strain.
But everything begins to shift when Ivory tells a new friend what she saw buried not far from her father’s military base.
As Ivory’s fears begin to disappear with the help of her homeless friend, she decides to step up and tell the authorities what she saw, even though it could have its own share of consequences.

Rate:
