Job summary

Ibis Healthcare seeks an Activity Specialist to deliver direct therapeutic services to mental health and substance use clients in an adult crisis stabilization unit. This PRN role is based in-office within a 24/7 inpatient setting.

Responsibilities include assessments, treatment planning, and providing individual, family, and group therapy across outpatient to inpatient contexts, with diligent documentation and adherence to Joint Commission and Medicaid standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a Human Services-related discipline and at least 1 year of experience in the behavioral health field.
• State of Florida registered interns with clear/active status preferred.
• Bilingual (English-Spanish) is preferred to serve a diverse patient population, however not required.
• Computer proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; EMR experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop service plans, treatment plans, and discharge plans.
• Facilitate process, psych-educational, recreational, and other clinical groups daily.
• Provide individual, family, and group therapy sessions with adults, children, and families in various settings.
• Accurate and timely documentation of clinical and administrative services per program guidelines and external standards.
• Meets productivity requirements for the designated program through efficient workflow management.
• Maintains cooperative relationships with other internal departments and external agencies and informs supervisor of relevant issues.
• Understands Co-Occurring disorders and the relationship between mental health and substance abuse.
• Demonstrates knowledge of age-specific needs of clients treated in the program.
• Other duties as assigned per program requirements.

The Activity Specialist is considered one of Ibis Healthcare's advanced professionals that will provide direct therapeutic services to identified mental health and substance abuse clients. The therapist will be responsible for maintaining patient care in accordance with program guidelines and external standards (Joint Commission, Medicaid, etc.). The therapist will provide clinical services to the following populations: individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents, and adults. In-office work environment within an adult crisis stabilization unit.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master's degree in a Human Services-related discipline and at least 1 year of experience in the behavioral health field. State of Florida registered interns with clear/active status preferred. Bilingual (English-Spanish) is preferred to serve a diverse patient population, however not required. Computer proficient in various Microsoft applications (Word, Excel), and Electronic Medical Records is helpful. May provide clinical oversight in a multidisciplinary team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct thorough assessments and develop service plans, treatment plans, and discharge plans.

• The therapist will also demonstrate knowledge of the age-specific needs of the clients treated in the program.
• Other duties as assigned or needed as per program requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Abilities in reaching, bending, talking, sitting, carrying, standing, grasping, fine hand coordination, the ability to hear, the ability to read and write, and the ability to remain calm under stress. Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds of dead weight alone. May be required to complete standing presentations involving speaking and listening to the audience.
