Activity Therapist Opportunity - Per Diem

HRI Hospital is seeking Activity Therapists for our inpatient psychiatric units. This is a highly satisfying opportunity for a clinical professional who thrives on providing highly individualized care to a very acute patient population. We are hiring for a per diem position with hours available on weekdays and/or weekends.

HRI Hospitalis 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. We are part of the largest private mental health system in Massachusetts and can therefore provide competitive salaries, benefits, and opportunities for growth and development. As an Activity Therapist, you will:

• Run assigned treatment groups to meet the need of various functioning level and/or diagnostic categories
• Utilize interviewing techniques, observations, formal and informal screening/evaluation tools to assess functional level of patients
• Identify patients’ assets and problem areas
• Collaborate with patients in goal-setting
• Recommend appropriate activities for goal attainment and assist patients to select appropriate groups and activities
• Complete daily notes for each group

• License: LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, or OT preferred
• Experience: One year prior inpatient clinical experience preferred. Six months prior experience as a group leader preferred.
