Cedar Creek Hospital in Michigan is seeking an Activity Therapist (CTRS or Master’s level Creative Arts Therapist) to deliver recreational therapy services. The role includes assessment, treatment planning, and discharge leisure planning for adolescents and adults with mental health needs.

The therapist educates patients on healthy coping strategies and leverages yoga, mindfulness, aromatherapy, music therapy, and nutrition as part of an integrated approach.

Qualifications

• CTRS Certification by NCTRC required or Master’s level Creative Arts Therapist with board certification.
• Experience in a behavioral health hospital setting preferred.

Description

The Activity Therapist, CTRS or other Creative Arts Therapist (Dance and Movement, Art, Music, etc) is responsible for the provision of Recreational Therapy services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic activity interventions and discharge leisure planning. This team utilizes individual and/or group activity interventions to bring about positive changes in the client's behavior, be-it cognitive, social, emotional or physical. They educates the patient in healthy coping skills, and available leisure resources to continue the client in post discharge leisure planning and involvement. They will be responsible for the provision of services according to the current standards of practice.

Hours

Hours for this role are day shift. We are looking for candidates that have at least one weekend that they could commit to a month
