Job description

About the position

Supervise, coach, and instruct summer kicks league soccer programs at Fern Hill Park.


This position will work on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from May 27th to July 24th, between 5:30-7:30 pm.


Posting will be open until filled.

Responsibilities
  • Create a positive, educational, active, and fun environment for participants.
  • Act as safety officer and implement any first aid needed.
  • Uphold the integrity of recreational sport/activity and address any unsportsmanlike conduct.
  • Assist in setting up and breaking down the facility for specific activities or athletic instruction.
  • Work cooperatively with the Park and Recreation department, other facility users, team managers, and players, implementing other recreational programs.
  • Represent the Recreation Department and the City of St. Louis Park in a professional manner, demonstrating politeness and courtesy.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and support for the city’s strategic objectives for advancing racial equity.
  • Familiarity with the sport or activity, including knowledge of official rules and skills.
  • Experience working with groups and teaching skills.
  • Positive attitude and strong initiative.
