Organization Overview: The Goddard Riverside Community Center (Goddard Riverside) and the Stanley M. Isaacs Center (Isaacs Center) are well-established Manhattan community-based agencies supporting services to approximately 30,000 New Yorkers. We are two of New York City’s leading human services organizations, meeting the needs of children, youth and families, homeless individuals, and older adults throughout Manhattan and New York City. Program Description: Goddard Riverside Community Center collaborates with the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development to alleviate poverty and provide opportunities by operating a Beacon Community Center on the Upper Westside. Beacon Centers serve youth from Kindergarten to age 21 and adults 22+, offering year-round programs on weekdays, weekends, and in summer, tailored to community needs.
Position Summary: Activity Specialists work with co-ed children across different age groups in areas such as Art, Chess, Computer Science, Fitness, Dance, Music, and Storytelling, fostering creative expression. They collaborate with Group Leaders and staff to support children's social-emotional growth within a positive, creative environment, emphasizing social and intellectual development.
Hourly Rate: $20.00-$25.00
Schedule: 3 days a week, Monday to Friday, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (summer camp from June 23, 2025, to August 15, 2025)
Qualifications: Candidates must meet the required qualifications, with salary based on experience and additional qualifications. Must be at least 18, have at least one year of experience working with children, and be able to attend training. Additional preferred qualifications include some college, ability to work collaboratively, a passion for youth development, and certifications such as CPR/First Aid.
