Police Athletic League, Inc. seeks a Part-Time Activity Specialist to develop and implement SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, and other activities for youth across PAL programs in New York City. You will oversee your area, collaborate with staff, and report to the Program Director.
The role requires experience with youth, strong classroom and behavior management, and bilingual abilities preferred. Start date Sept 7, 2026; compensation ranges from $20–$25 per hour with benefits and growth opportunities.
The Police Athletic League (PAL) of New York City is an independent youth development nonprofit organization and has been a vibrant and vital institution, serving as an effective, critical bridge between police and communities across all five boroughs of the City since 1914. PAL operates diverse programs for children as young as 2 years old to young adults. Programs include Head Start, after-school programs and summer day camps for elementary, middle and high school youth, and summer Playstreets. PAL also runs evening teen centers and college readiness programs, youth employment, and juvenile justice programs. Staying true to PAL’s roots, a cornerstone of our youth development strategy includes offering competitive and recreational sports for children of all ages. We are looking for Part Time Activity Specialists who will be responsible for developing and implementing a broad range of specialties: SEL, dance, sports, STEAM, life skills development, literacy, leadership, performing arts, visual arts, and college and career readiness. Specialists will oversee their area of expertise while collaborating with all staff and site leadership. The Activity Specialist will report to the Program Director and be supported by the Content Specialist.
Compensation: The range for this role is $20-25.00 an hour where the finalist falls in this range will be commensurate with skills and experience.
