Job summary

New York Edge is seeking Extended Day Activity Instructors to deliver engaging after-school programming across New York City and Wyandanch sites. Summary

Extended Day Activity Instructors play a vital role in delivering engaging, high-quality after-school programming for children and teens across New York Edge program sites. In this role, you will lead or co-lead activities in areas such as STEM, visual and performing arts, literacy, student leadership, sports, health and wellness, business and entrepreneurship, media arts, journalism, urban agriculture, and more. This position offers a unique opportunity to both teach and inspire—supporting curriculum development while creating meaningful, hands‑on learning experiences. Activity Instructors collaborate closely with the Curriculum & Instruction team and Program Directors to ensure smooth daily operations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• May be required to walk up and down stairs.
• May have to lift or move objects/materials as needed.
• Work is performed mostly within a New York City Public School but may be required to interact with community at‑large during trips or events.

Specialists will be required to report to the school building and interact with staff, students, parents, and school administration.

At the time of offer and acceptance, the job requires safety and security clearances through the Department of Education and the Department of Health.
