Job summary

American Medical Administrators MGMT Company is seeking an experienced Activity Director to lead ongoing activity programs for residents in a long-term care setting. The role focuses on physical, mental, and psychological well-being through therapeutic group activities.

The ideal candidate is creative, outgoing, and experienced in activity planning and discharge coordination, with a caring approach to residents and the team.

Qualifications

• Must have genuine empathy and patience to care for residents and team.
• Must have a caring approach and be willing to address residents’ needs.
• Experience as an Activity Director in long-term care or assisted living preferred.
• Must be creative and have an outgoing personality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an ongoing program of activities for residents’ physical, mental, and psychological well-being.
• Develop, plan, and organize programs for therapeutic groups.
• Teach and facilitate programs to support rehabilitation and health.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Contribute to activity care plan development and implementation.
• Assist with resident assessments.

We are currently seeking an Activity Director.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure an on-going program of activities is available to meet the interests and physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident.
• Develop, plan, and organize a program for therapeutic groups.
• Teach and facilitate the program to support optimal rehabilitation and health of residents.
• Participate in discharge planning.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of activity care plans.
• Assist with resident assessments.

Requirements:

Licensure/Certification:

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record in order to transport residents to and from appointments and/or outings.
• Must also agree to obtain a L1MA license.

Experience:

• Previous Activity Director experience in a long-term care/assisted living facility.
• Must be creative and have an outgoing/dynamic personality.
