Job summary

Courtyard Village at Raleigh Hills, located in Portland, Oregon, is seeking an Activity Director to join our team. The role focuses on planning engaging resident programming, coordinating community outings, and leading a dedicated activities staff within a faith- and community-driven senior living community.

We emphasize creativity, organization, and strong communication, with flexible availability including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in activities, recreation, or programming in independent senior living, or retirement community.
• Genuine enthusiasm for working with older adults and a gift for sparking engagement.
• Strong leadership skills; supervisory experience preferred.
• Highly organized, creative, and self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
• Flexible availability including some evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead resident programming. Develop and implement a monthly calendar of activities tailored to resident interests.
• Get out in the community. Organize and accompany residents on outings, day trips, and adventures.
• Lead a team. Supervise, train, schedule, and support activities staff and volunteers, and conduct regular performance appraisals.
• Measure what matters. Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and resident satisfaction and adjust as needed.
• Keep things running smoothly. Maintain the monthly calendar, manage supplies within budget, prepare reports, ensure compliance.
• Be a community connector. Coordinate with volunteers, church groups, community organizations, and other departments.

Activity Director duties and responsibilities:

• Plan and lead resident programming. Develop and implement a monthly calendar of individual and group activities — physical, cognitive, social, and spiritual — tailored to resident interests.
• Get out in the community. Organize and accompany residents on outings, day trips, and adventures that bring joy and connection beyond our walls.
• Lead a team. Supervise, train, schedule, and support activities staff and volunteers, and conduct regular performance appraisals.
• Measure what matters. Continuously evaluate program effectiveness and resident satisfaction and make adjustments to keep programming fresh and meaningful.
• Keep things running smoothly. Maintain the monthly activities calendar, manage department supplies inventory within budget, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Be a community connector. Coordinate with volunteers, church groups, community organizations, and other departments to enrich the resident experience.

Wage negotiable based on experience; $30-$31 per hour.
